New gums. New attitude.
At first, our patient didn’t realize she was losing gum tissue. It began subtly. When she finally saw the exposed roots, she was very upset. Fortunately, we were able to repair much of the damage through gingival grafting, using her own tissue. Her smile was once again a happy one.
Fixing a fashion faux pas.
Our patient had had her lip pierced. She removed the piercing, but not in time to prevent significant gum recession. A gingival graft repaired the damage with healthy, pink tissue. Her new gums should last a lifetime – permitted she doesn’t re-pierce the area. Now we just need to work on getting her to remove that tongue ring!
