We are proud to welcome Dr. Rafael Pereira to our team as a highly experienced dentist with extensive training.
Dr. Rafael Pereira is originally from Brazil and earned his DDS from the University of Brasília, one of the country’s top dental schools. He subsequently pursued advanced education in Implant Dentistry and completed a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He later obtained a Master’s degree in Dentistry and completed numerous advanced courses in oral surgery and implant dentistry, both in Brazil and the United States.
Dr. Pereira joined the University of Michigan initially as a Visiting Professor and Research Scholar, later serving as a Research Fellow. He then completed his Periodontics residency and earned his second Master’s degree at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
Prior to his time in Michigan, Dr. Pereira worked in private practice for nearly 20 years and served as a professor for over 15 years in Brazil, teaching Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontology, and Implant Dentistry. His dedication to education, research, and patient care reflects a career grounded in academic excellence, clinical expertise, and a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes.
Dr. Pereira’s primary interests include dental implants with full-mouth rehabilitation, bone and soft tissue regeneration, and digital implant workflows. He has authored numerous scientific publications in leading journals and has received prestigious awards.
